In an effort to ease the anxiety of the chaos… this last year I moved to a better system, a full planner. The planners from the stores were nice but they were simply too basic. I have a lot to juggle and I needed a central place for my everything. I invested in a beautiful Filofax.
It’s amazing. I can order, search printables (free and purchased) or create my own inserts for it! It’s simply the best thing for me!

One problem though…I want it to hold too much. The poor binder rings are getting overwhelmed. Insert sadnesses. Maybe that means that I am trying to do too much BUT this is me and this is what I do. I needed another solution.
Hello, Fitness Journal. I came to realize that it was time with the 2nd & 3rd marathon training in process that I needed to invest in a journal. A place to maintain a diary of what I was doing to help my tracking and chances for improvement.
This definitely resolved a lot of my issues for space BUT then I decided that after looking around at the chaos in the house as part of the ABFOL’s 31 Day Purge, I needed one that was dedicated to the actual day-to-day planning. A calendar. A scheduling.
Enter in Life Planner. I was a little hesitant to be a woman who was planning from 2-3 planners. That just seems like I’m overdoing but when it all comes down to it…I needed it. I needed a place for my devotional, family notes, budgeting, to do list, shopping lists, activities, fitness, menu planning, school, blogging, etsy shop and journaling. My filofax does that. It gives me the space and the freedom to have everything I want except the day to day. Plus…in my pre-mommy life, I was a scrapbooker so it really does make the best fit!
