It’s been a year since I decided to join one of the local gyms. It was so hard working out at home with two littles around. The same workout at the gym would take me almost an hour longer at home. Honestly, I would also find a million reasons to not do it too. When you see all the things surrounding you that need to be done, it is very hard to stay diligent.
The gym and the childcare have become my sanity saver as well as the means to an end. After all of the crazy distance run training, I hit a stalemate with my fitness/body composition. Sure I was wearing smaller clothes than I ever had BUT I was kind of “flabby fit”. I didn’t have the muscle tone that I desired to have. After a year’s work, I am down to my GOAL BODY FAT…18.1%!
So that goal may seem a little random but I had found this blog years back with differently celebrities and their body fat. Jennifer Aniston (LOVES her) was listed as an 18% so that became my goal. Well…I’m there!!!!
Another really awesome thing… I got to chat with the trainer about where to go from here. We talked a little about my distance running and taking a break from it next year to work on trimming the fat down out of my areas that I am holding it more. This is no longer a chase for weight loss or even fat loss. It is no longer a journey of the distances I can push myself. Now my path is to focus on purely what makes me the healthiest WITH happiness.
Here’s to a new path and new goals for a happier and healthier me!
